Join the Hook & Loop straps together, and then secure the over-strap down as your locking strap. Just make sure your dog's own collar can not be pulled over his ears, as therein lies his safety

The key thing about this collar design, is that your dog's safety is not dependent on the tightness of the Watercollar. The Water-collar is an extension of his own collar. His collar is simply threaded through the loops and the Watercollar hangs somewhat loosely around his neck. He is, thereby, very comfortable and doesn't even notice he has it on.
Would my dog be comfortable wearing the HedzUPpets Watercollar for long periods of time?
The collar is very light-weight, soft, and non-restrictive to the dog’s movements. The dogs used in the trials did not pay any attention to the collars, at all!
What is the best way to get my dog accustomed to wearing the collar?
For your dog to be able to wear the collar, he needs to not be unafraid of it. The best way to get him accustomed to the collar is to put it on him and let him wear it around the house several times before you put him in the sea/pool/lake with it on.
How do I clean the HedzUPpets Watercollar?
Our collars are made of 100% cotton fabric. They are completely machine washable in cold water, and should be air dried in a shady spot, to keep fading to a minimum. FOR BEST RESULTS, BE SURE TO ATTACH THE STRAPS OF THE COLLAR TOGETHER BEFORE WASHING. NOTE: To lengthen the life of your collar, after the dog has been in the pool, it is advised that you rinse the collar to remove the chlorine or salt, and then let it air dry.
The WaterCollar looks too big on my dog
The collars have been designed to hang somewhat loosely around your dog’s neck. After multiple uses of the collar the foam will mould more to the shape of your dog’s neck. It is important to have the right size to suit your dog’s weight, otherwise the WaterCollar will not be effective. Flotation Calculation sheet attached.
